KARACHI, Pakistan, Nov. 10 —A military communiqué said that Pakistani troops blunted major Indian offensive today in the Belonia bulge of Noakhali district of East Pakistan.

The communiqué, issued in Dacca, the East Pakistani capital, said the offensive was the “most serious since India started shelling and attacking East Pakistani borders without any provocation” a few weeks ago. It said the attack was supported by tanks and field guns. The communiqué said 74 of the attackers were killed and nearly 130 wounded.
