GENEVA, Dec. 6 —Pakistan has asked Switzerland to look after her interests in India fol lowing the break in diplomatic relations, a spokesman for the Pakistani Embassy in Berne said today. He said that Switzerland would reply tomorrow.

Dr. Ernesto A. Thalmann, Secretary General of the Swiss Foreign Ministry, told correspondents that Switzerland had sounded out other neutral governments on the possibility of a joint peace appeal. Thus far, he said, there had been no result.

Switzerland announced last week her willingness to act as mediator if both India and Pakistan agreed. Asked, today whether Pakistan had asked Switzerland to play such a role, Dr. Thalmann replied that he had nothing to say for the time being.
