A New Jersey woman was freed by East Pakistani guerrillas Tuesday as they swept with the Indian Army into Jessore, where she had been held in a Pakistani jail since October.
The woman's husband, Paul Connett, said yesterday that his wife, Ellen Langle Connett, 28 years old, had telephoned from Calcutta, India, to report that she had been liberated. She said that the Indian soldiers and the guerrillas had escorted her to the Indian border and that she had made her way to Calcutta.
The Connetts both work with Operation Omega, a private Londonābased relief organization. Mrs. Connett was arrested by the Pakistanis when she tried to take clothing to East Pakistanis.
