NEW DELHI, Aug. 21 (Reuters)—Foreign journalists who flew to Bangladesh yesterday are being expelled, the press officer of Bangladesh in Calcutta said today.
The officer, Maqsood Ali, said by telephone that he had received instructions from the new Government in Dacca that no visas were to be issued to journalists and that no one without a visa would be permitted to enter the country. Mr. Ali said that those journalists already there were being sent out.
About 30 foreign reporters flew to Dacca yesterday from Calcutta, and several others reached there from Bangkok. But five others who tried to fly in today from Calcutta were refused seats on the Indian Airlines and Bangladesh Biman flights.
