Background: INDIAN TROOPS WERE REPORTED TODAY TO HAVE LAUNCHED A MAJOR NEW THRUST AGAINST THE EASTERN WING OF PAKISTAN. PAKISTAN BEGAN CALLING UP ITS MILITARY RESERVES.
IN DACCA, CAPITOL OF EAST PAKISTAN...THE PAKISTAN ARMY RULES WITH MOST OF ITS TROOPS FROM WEST PAKISTAN. THEY DO NOT HAVE MUCH IN COMMON WITH THE BENGALIS AND RUN THE SHOW WITH AN IRON HARD. BUT, AS BRADY REPORTS, THE ARMY'S GRIP ON DACCA IS GETTING SHAKY. MOST OF THE 70.000 TROOPS ARE NOW ALONG THE BORDER WITH INDIA WHERE THE PAKISTANIS SAY THE INDIANS ARE ATTACKING ON ALL SIDES OF EAST PAKISTAN.
THE PAKISTAN ARMY, TO PROVE THEIR POINT. RECENTLY SHOWED OFF SOME INDIAN PRISONERS WHO ADMITTED THEY WERE IN PAKISTAN WHEN CAPTURED. THEY SAID THEIR OFFICERS TOLD THEN THE AREA WAS LIBERATED. NO ONE HAS SEEN THE INVADERS SO FAR EXCEPT THE PAKISTANI ARMY. BUT THE PAKISTANIS KNOW THE INDIANS HAVE MORE WEAPONS. AND THEY ARE LOGGED DOWN WITH THE REBEL BANGLA DESH. PAKISTAN IS ALSO ON SHORT MONEY. PERHAPS THE UNITED NATIONS COULD SEX STEP IN AND GIVE PAKISTAN A CHANGE TO CATCH ITS BREATH.
