Background: While reports of heavy fighting continue to pour in from East Pakistan and its border areas, guerrillas of the Mukti Bahini movement claim to have captured large quantities of Pakistan Army weapons and supplies in an area about 100 miles Northeast of Dacca.

Visnews cameraman Prem Prakash filmed some of the captured arms and went with a Mukti Bahini patrol to get this story.

He also filmed Indian border guards who have stepped up their patrols along the East Pakistani frontier.

SYNOPSIS: As tension mounts along the Indian border with East Pakistan, Indian frontier guards have stepped up their patrols. Reports of heavy shelling along some areas have led to the cancellation of all leave for the Indian forces, and reserve troops are being brought into training camps. The Pakistan Government has accused India of launching an all-out offensive without a formal declaration of war.

In the village of Harihar Gala, in the Tripura State, reports of shelling along the adjacent border area were followed by news of heavy casualties.

Inside East Pakistan, guerrilla patrols of the Mukti Bahini movement claim to be inflicting heavy casualties in the Pakistan Army divisions using hit and run tactics. They displayed a haul of captured weapons to visiting newsmen. Observers have estimated that the Mukti Bahini has some 150,000 men in the field around the southeastern areas of Dacca. The Pakistan Army has concentrated four divisions on the other side of the city.

The Mujib battery of the Mukti Bahini has been giving artillery cover to its advancing forces. Officers told newsmen that because of a shortage of ammunition, they have to conserve fire power by amino only at certain targets....this one claimed a one hundred per cent success rate for his men.

On this particular patrol, the Mukti Bahini brought back a Pakistani Razakar who, they claimed, was sending information to the Pakistan forces to the Pakistan forces on the position of patrols and artillery.
