Background: While civil war is reported to continue in East Pakistan, there is a little evidence of fighting inside the border from India. A National Broadcasting Company camera team managed to penetrate 20 miles into East Pakistan from the Indian border. Although they saw no fighting, or for that matter any signs of the reported heavy - death toll and destruction, crowds Bangla Desh supporters were in evidence. Armed mostly with sticks and bamboo poles, they chanted their support for Bangla Desh. There was no evidence of the reported heavily armed troops from West Pakistan.
