Delhi, Oct 22.—Indian Army reservists have been called up for service because of the tense situation on the borders with Pakistan, according to reliable sources quoted by the Press Trust of India.
The regular Indian Army numbers about 825,000. There are an estimated 600,000 on the reserve.
In a report from Jammu, north of Delhi, the United News of India news agency said today that Pakistan troops had been building fortifications along 27 miles of the frontier.—Reuter and AP.
