DACCA, March 4 (Reuters)— Army reinforcements arrived here today by plane and ship to help maintain order in East Pakistan.
The army was denounced anew by Sheik Mujib, who said in an interview that it was “behaving like an occupying force.”
He charged that troops had fired machine guns at unarmed people during the general strike, and he asserted that 300 had been killed.
Some reports put the toll at 100 dead and thousands injured throughout East Pakistan. The Associated Press of Pakistan said 75 had been killed and 20 injured in the port of Chittagong.
