NEW DELHI, Dec. 14 (UPI)—Defense Minister Jagjivan Ram said today that the Indian frigate Khukri had been sunk in the Arabian Sea while on an operation off West Pakistan.

The Defense Minister said that 191 members of the crew were lost with the ship while 97 were rescued. He said that the loss of the Khukri was India's only naval setback while Pakistan had lost two submarines, 16 gunboats and three larger vessels.
